I remember a few years back when I was in high school sitting in class reading The Birmingham News, there was this little bity article announcing that Disney was going to debut it's first ever black Princess movie....I was so overjoyed to hear that I still have that old wrinkled up little bity article in my scrapbook
So today, at the beauty shop we hosted a Princess Party to let all of or litle black girls know that they to are princesses... My mama and cousins did make- up while me and a church member poilished nails. We expected a total of 10 girls at first but when it was all said and done we had over 20 little and big girls ages ranging from 1 til 15...
My back is still aching from all of that polishing... But the girls loved it though!
After the nails and make- up the girls we gorgeous and had a brand new attitude. All of them at first a few of the girls were shy and we had to break them out of their shells but at the end of the day they knew who they truly were.
After the nails and make- up we then put down red table cloths as the "red carpet" and each girl strutted her stuff to the Christmas Tree and had her picture taken with my mama's fox coat on their shoulders.
Then we preceded to eat hot dogs and rotel dip... Thanks to Wal-Mart they totally messed up our Princess cake which also was my mom's birthday cake because today is her day. But we dealt with what was given.....
Then all twenty of us Princesses went to the movies to view the movie... We had a great time...
The movie was awesome, because it was my mom's birthday, she opted not to join us so I will be taking her on Monday to the matenee so she can view it. This movie is not one to be bootlegged.... I feel that its too precious... This will be the first real movie in ages that will be bought from the store from me...
The little lighting bug "Raymond" and his whole family were my favorite characters...
New Orleans is always a city that I wanted to be in maybe one day when I do it real big I will be able to buy a house there and The Princess and the Frog makes you feel as if youre there with all of the jazz, Cajun gumbo and characters. I lovvvvveeeeddddddddd that... Too funny...
When the movie was over me and the whole crowd were cheering clapping and hollering... I am so proud.....
